4th annual deep carnivale holding auditions for participants

Received via email:
The Artists and Writers Group, Inc. announces a series of competitive auditions for writers and readers interested in participating in the 4th annual Deep Carnivale, a literature festival scheduled for September 11 at Hillsborough Community College in Ybor City.

The auditions are free and open to all ages. Participants have two minutes to read his or her original material or any work by any author. Finalists will have an opportunity to read another two minutes of material. Three participants at each audition will be selected to read at Deep Carnivale and compete for three cash awards totaling $200.

Judging will be based on both the quality of the material and the presentation. Material should be appropriate for the general public. Authors and writers already invited to read at this year’s festival cannot compete in these auditions.

To reserve a spot on the schedule please contact David Audet at daudet[at]hccfl.edu and indicate which evening and general time you wish to read. However, anyone can attend any audition and if spaces are available, sign up at that time.

The first audition will be held Thursday, August 12, from 7 to 9 p.m. at The Globe Coffee Lounge (532 1st Avenue North, St. Pete).

The next two auditions will be held on Wednesday, August 18, and Wednesday, September 1, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Tre Amici at the Bunker (1907 North 19th Street).
